About us

The Stanford Park Sports Foundation was created from a simple belief: sports can change lives and not just by creating athletes, but by building confident, disciplined, and resilient young people.

Our foundation was born from the journey of our founder, Petr Ropek, who grew up in Prague, Czech Republic. Through soccer and later basketball, Petr learned early that discipline, hard work, and accountability could open doors that financial resources could not. Those lessons earned him the opportunity to move to the United States to play college basketball and shaped the person he would become.

After graduating, Petr founded Stanford Park Sports, delivering professional sports programs to schools across the Bay Area. While working with some local school districts, funding cuts caused programs to be eliminated and leaving families from underserved communities without access to something their children loved and relied on. Seeing the impact firsthand made the mission clear: access to high-quality sports training should not depend on income or opportunity.

That realization led to the creation of the Stanford Park Sports Foundation.

Today, we serve children from TK through high school across all skill levels, including students from underserved schools, low-income families, public schools, and juvenile programs. We bring professional-level coaching directly onto school campuses through preschool, recess, after-school programs, camps, and academy training in basketball, soccer, and tennis.

Our European-style coaching emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, and pushing beyond comfort zones. While we train athletes seriously, we focus on development over winning—because character, confidence, and resilience matter far more than the scoreboard.

We do more than coach. We build character.

Our vision is to ensure every child in the Bay Area and beyond has the opportunity to grow, compete, and succeed through the power of sports.
